“It looks like a dishcloth.” – My friend.
I’ll never forget that comment from a friend who was seeing me wearing the Zorali Air-Grid™ Fleece.
She’s not wrong, it kind of does look like one…but not in a bad way. I love my Zorali fleece. At 172cm tall, I have a small and it fits well.
This post will give you the details about the fleece, and what I do not like about it.

Wearing the fleece while staying at Bullendale Hut for the night.

WHAT I LIKE

Happily wearing the Air-Grid fleece just as the sun is setting on a night camping near Brewster Hut.
Lifestyle & hiking fit.
I wear this around town, and out on the trails. While I am far from a fashion guru, it’s functional and seemingly good looking for all occassions.
The colour.
I got one of the seasonal blue colours. They have a few core colours, and cycle through a few seasonal colours which is fun. Some of the photos in this post don’t show the colour that well, but you’ll get the jist.

The neck line.
I need to take a better photo to reflect this, but when the hood is up, it fits snug around my head and the neckline sits higher. I don’t feel like my ears get cold. It’s just nice. And a good gag where if I tuck my beard in, people think I’ve chopped it off :p
I’m not usually wearing the hood, it sits well without it on. Big fan.
There’s a drawcord on the hood (see above photo), which doesn’t take away from the look of the fleece. While I’ve never used it, it’s a nice touch.
100% recycled polyester.
Seems pretty obvious right…items are either 100% new (virgin) polyester, or 100% recycled polyester…well turns out there’s lots of products out there that are a blend, some new polyester and some recycled. That confused me until I wrote this post and did some Google-ing…apparently recycled polyester isn’t as durable as new polyester. News to me…I’ve had this fleece for a little over 18 months and it’s in mint condition (if anything, slight colour fade).
Transparency.

While I don’t know how the stats of the Zorali fleece compares to other fleeces on an enviromental scale, the fact they show the above stats on the product page, gives me some faith in the company.
WHAT I DON’T LIKE

Enjoy some puzzles at Kirtle Burn Hut.
I’m really struggling to find things I don’t like about it.
If I have dry skin it feels a bit niggly sometimes. And it sometimes collects some fluff and bits and pieces.
The price point is a bit much at full price, but they often have sales so you can get it for under $150 NZD on a fairly regular basis which feels like a good deal.
I just really like this fleece, much like I like the Zorali Escapade Backpack. I’m not a massive fleece person, like I don’t like the classic fleece pullover style like this…but I’m a big fan of this, and the Macpac Pisa Jacket that’s a technical fleece.
