After writing about some Kuhl shorts previously, I was able to get my hands on a pair of the Kulh Revivr™ shorts.
I could have chosen any pair of Kuhl shorts, but the Revivr™ stood out to me for a few reasons:
- The zipped rear pocket. I need
- In reviews, people mentioned they’d been used for hiking, casual, and the ability to wear them dressed up. They
- The material looked like it would be quiet. In the past I’ve tried shorts from Kuhl and you could hear me coming from miles away.
- Came in a 10-inch inseam option. My ideal short length.
Before writing this review I wanted to make sure I used the shorts in various situations. I’ve backpacked through the United States, Georgia, Armenia, and Indoensia, with them. And I’ve now spent some time at home in Queenstown with them.
I’ve put them through their paces, and here’s my Kuhl Revivr™ shorts review. I chose the Raven colour.
TL;DR Kulh Revivr™ shorts review: They’re a great all rounder short to get through all things life.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE KUHL REVIVR™ SHORTS
DON’T STINK
Weird fact about me…I can’t smell. That means I’m always super cautious about not wearing clothing too many times before they get stinky as most people are too nice to say it stinks. I will tell my closest friends to let me know if I ever do. I did a test with these shorts and wore them (in peak summer) for multiple days where I know I was sweaty and they didn’t get a mention so thats great.
No, I didn’t ask friends to do the sniff test while I did the test!
THE DRAWSTRING IS GREAT
The one thing I didn’t like about KRUISER™ was the drawstring wasn’t ideal. But on the Revivr™, it’s been great and it’s not something I ever think about once tied.
THE BACK ZIP POCKET GOES GOOD
I normally prefer a zip pocket on the side of the shorts, but this pocket goes good and feels secure.
I LIKE THE INTERNAL PHONE POCKET
I don’t use it for my phone though as it’s quite a snug fit which I’m not a fan of. I do put my earphones case inside and if I’m carrying a couple of bank cards, they go in there and feel safe. I’m hopeless for havng things fall out of my pockets. So I think of it more as an internal knick knack pocket, than phone pocket.
CAN BE USED FOR RUNNING
In my mind these were going to be casual/daily shorts as I like my Fast Track shorts for that, but one day I met a friend for a run and it wasn’t until I got there that I realised I had the Revivr’s on. I was a bit worried, but it turned out it was fine. They were super comfy and I didn’t think about them at all which is what I want in running shorts.
CAN BE DRESSED UP OR DOWN
As someone who wears shorts every day of the year (there’s usually one or two exceptions), I’m not often at formal events, but when I do it’s handy to use some kind of clothing I already own. These shorts can be dressed up with a collared shirt easily. Suddenly I look fancy!
WHAT I DON’T LIKE ABOUT THE KUHL REVIVR™ SHORTS
There’s nothing I don’t like about these as of yet. I will update this post if something pops up.
The one thing I wish there was is for one of the side pockets to be zipped, ideally the left pocket so I can still easily access the internal pocket mentioned above.
