Heyya,

Jub here, the Kiwi behind Chur New Zealand.

You can read some facts about me at the bottom of the page

My mission with ChurNewZealand.com is to provide you with the best content to help you plan your trip to New Zealand.

Planning your trip of a lifetime brings about a variety of emotions. Stress, excitement, indecision, inspiration, and fear to name a few of the common ones. Most emotions are related to unknowns that’ll be only 100% revealed during your trip. There’s never going to be 100% certainty before a trip (that’s a good thing). But, in most cases, increasing your knowledge before a trip is a good thing. If I can help fill in some of your knowledge gaps about your upcoming trip, I’ve done my job.

And you’ll end up with amazing photos, fun stories, and lifelong memories you’re proud to share with friends and family. In a perfect world, you’ll leave with no regrets, bad experiences, and time or money wasted.

Why another website on New Zealand?

The boat sheds in Wellington

Well, there’s plenty of generic New Zealand content on the web today. Everyone goes to the Tongariro Crossing, writes about it. They then head to a city and follows that up with an ultimate guide to a destination they’ve spent 72 hours in. Yes, the latter happens a tonne.

I don’t want to mislead you. There are going to be a few generic posts on this website, but I’ll try to make them as useful as possible. The rest of the content is going to be different from what you normally find when researching New Zealand. Not different for different sakes, but better and useful too.

How? By using genuine experts and sharing recent experiences.

What’s an expert? That’s not easy to answer but to ensure that I’m as transparent as possible, I’ll explain how every article is put together and always keep the dates on the articles so you know how current the information is/isn’t. If an article/blog post on the internet doesn’t have a date, or it’s a recent date be skeptical of how correct and up to date the information is. The reason being site owners will often make the date new as Google’s search engines reward recently published content (it’s more complicated than that, but in a nutshell they do).

Honestly, would you rather read a generic list of 10 things to do or an article about what the locals and genuine destination experts do in a place? I hope you’ll say the latter! Because that’s what I’ll be bringing you lots of.

You’ll likely read itineraries from other travellers during your research (they’re useful). These itineraries are a great resource but often leave you with lingering questions. I’m excited to talk to people about their itineraries and ask the questions you’d ask if you were talking with them in person rather than reading about their trip and tips on the internet.

For example:

  • What type of traveller are they?
  • What would they have done differently?
  • What were some of the unexpected things they came across?
  • What were their favourite moments?

The list goes on. Asking questions is fun!

Remember, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed, confused, and worried in the lead up to your trip. You work hard to earn money that’ll pay for your vacation. I speak for Kiwi’s as a whole here. We’re happy you’ve chosen to spend your valuable time in our country and want you to have the best trip ever.

You’re more than welcome to contact me with your questions as you transition to becoming confident, knowledgeable, and inspired leading up to your trip to New Zealand.
